How to Choose the Pixel Pitch for Outdoor Full-Color LED Display Screens?

I. Based on Display Area

• For areas smaller than 10㎡ with sufficient budget, it is recommended to use P4 outdoor high-definition full-color LED display screens.
• For areas between 10~20㎡, P5 outdoor full-color display screens are recommended.
• For areas between 20~60㎡ with a viewing distance beyond 6 meters, P6 full-color LED advertising screens are suitable.
• For areas larger than 60㎡ with a viewing distance beyond 8 meters, P8 outdoor screens are recommended.
• P10 full-color LED screens are ideal for customers with large display areas, low clarity requirements, and simple image/video display needs.

II. Based on Viewing Distance

• "P" generally represents the pixel pitch, and the number after "P" refers to the distance between two LED lamp beads (commonly called dot pitch). The smaller the dot pitch value, the higher the pixel density, the clearer the display, and the more suitable for close viewing – but the price is higher.
• Therefore, Gengchuang Electronics suggests:
  • For close viewing distances, use P2.5, P3, or P4.
  • For moderate distances, choose P5, P6, or P8.
  • For longer distances, opt for P10.
• Reasoning: The farther the viewing distance, the larger the display area tends to be, and the lower the clarity requirements. Thus, selecting a larger dot pitch is more appropriate. While a smaller dot pitch can be chosen with a  budget, it is far more costly and less cost-effective.
